Areas of practice

The chamber's work is criminal law. What follows is general information about each kind of matter — not legal advice on any particular case.

01

Bail & Anticipatory Bail

Bail is the rule and jail the exception — but securing it depends on how the application is framed, the stage of the investigation, and the record placed before the court.

The chamber appears in regular-bail and anticipatory-bail applications before the Magistrate, Sessions Court, and High Court, and advises on compliance with bail conditions thereafter.

02

Criminal Trials

A criminal trial is won or lost in its details: the charge, the witnesses, the cross-examination, and the record built day by day.

The chamber conducts defence at every stage of trial — framing of charge, evidence, statements under Section 351 BNSS, and final arguments.

03

Criminal Appeals & Revisions

An order of conviction, or an interlocutory order that causes injustice, is not the end of the road.

The chamber drafts and argues criminal appeals, revisions, and quashing petitions, with close attention to the trial record.

04

Cheque Dishonour (NI Act s.138)

Proceedings under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act follow strict timelines — for the statutory notice, the complaint, and the defence.

The chamber acts for both complainants and accused in cheque-dishonour matters, including compounding and settlement where appropriate.

05

Matrimonial & Domestic Offence Defence

Offences arising from matrimonial disputes call for a measured approach — firm on the law, careful with the family circumstances behind the file.

The chamber appears in proceedings arising under matrimonial-cruelty provisions and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.

06

Cyber & Economic Offences

Investigations under the IT Act and economic-offence provisions increasingly begin with devices and bank records rather than witnesses.

The chamber advises from the investigation stage onwards — notices, statements, and anticipatory relief — through to trial.
